For the old man
needlepoint spitting on navy tattoos
across the shined hall
stacked-up chairs build three feet from a ceiling
there’s dagger doubt
plugged-in for TV patient control
voiced maximum volume
shifting nurses wetting lined rind topography
drugs for horses
same boat’s insects march across bow and stern
