Working the Poor –

They take that cigarette, take it all the way down to the golden thumb and the yellow forefinger
Steinbeck’s imprinted blue-collar elite, still with no laundered cotton or linen, only de-elasticising skin coverings and wisdom for themselves and their Kin
They’re all insomnia and sleepwalking around one filthy room, and none of it matters to them.
